Maryann Flock - Director
Maryann Flock is active in the Chicagoland area as a versatile musician. She served as the conductor and music director of orchestras at: Illinois State University, Benedictine University, Moraine Valley Community College, and the Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra. She is a Conductor Emeritus for the Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra, where her innovative programming was admired and imitated by other area organizations. An enthusiast of vocal works, Flock worked with the da Corneto Opera Studio, the Choral Ensemble of Chicago, and served on the voice faculty of Indiana University Northwest. Flock has twice directed the Glorious Grands concerts for the Salt Creek Music Teachers Association. Her concert bands have performed for such dignitaries as President George H.W. Bush, Secretary of State Colin Powell and entertainer Julie Andrews. Currently Flock teaches oboe and music at Moraine Valley Community College and cantors for St. Scholastica Parish of Woodridge, IL. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Musical Education from St. Mary's College, South Bend, and her Master of Arts in Orchestral Conducting from Illinois State University. She has studied with Nancy Menk and Glenn Block.
