Picture
In 1998, Maryann Flock founded (and continues to direct) the New Horizons Band DuPage.  Flock is active in the Chicagoland area as a versatile musician. She served as the conductor and music director of orchestras at: Illinois State University, Benedictine University, and the Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra.  She is a Conductor Emeritus for the Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra, where her innovative programming was emulated by other organizations in the area.  An enthusiast of vocal works, Flock worked with the
Da Corneto Opera Studio, the Choral Ensemble of Chicago, and served on the voice faculty of Indiana University Northwest. Her concert bands have performed for such dignitaries as President George H.W. Bush, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Julie Andrews.  Flock regularly directs the Glorious Grands concerts for the Salt Creek Music Teachers Association & Northwest Illinois Music Teachers.  Currently Flock directs the Moraine Valley Orchestra, cantors for St. Scholastica Parish of Woodridge, freelances on oboe throughout Chicagoland, plays piano with her New Horizons Jazz Ensemble, and is a music educator for Naperville schools.
